hey ladies & gents, this holiday craft fair is 2 weeks from tomorrow so i wanted to let you all know about it. i’ll be sharing a table with my friend Missy and selling my wares (paintings & candy) down in South Philly.

Slowly, her skin sags and wrinkles, her organs start working at sub-optimal levels, strange growths and mutations occur, and then, with little warning, an often painful and undignified death. May you get a few more cycles out of your cells before they start screwing up.

Menopause is around the corner, then her certain and inevitable demise wherein the spirit and soul that is Gosia leaves her earthly body. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. It’s happening. Soon.

May the 4th be with you.

And, on this day, I don’t know how many years ago (because I am a bad son), she was born and immediately began her path to death.

Today she is one year closer.

i want to go to the Henri David Ball this year and i’m going to really spiff up my Jersey Devil costume for it. is anyone else interested in going? it’s probably one of the best Halloween celebrations in the area and it’s the 40th anniversary.

are playing at the church on october 26th and Mercury Radio Theater is opening – i saw them years ago and loved the shit outta them! is anyone interested in going??

This past Sunday, my sister, Britt, her (not)boyfriend, Steve, and their dog loaded up their $3,000 RV that they bought and fixed up and set off on a four month road trip to California. They apparently have plans to hit several locations across the US, stay with lots of of people, and then sell their RV in California to buy plane tickets to Hawaii. Once they’re in Hawaii, they’ll be using couchhoppers.com to find couches to sleep on until they get jobs and find their own place.

Wish ‘em luck and hope they don’t die.

Barack Obama will accept the Democratic nomination for President on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

i don’t care what your opinion on either man is, you have to admit that it’s a pretty amazing and fantastic milestone.

i just found out that Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will be playing the Electric Factory on October 7th! tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10. anyone interested? as far as i recall, the EC is all general admission, which rules for dancing as well as one price for all tickets.

kev and i shall be there. Mister Cave hardly ever plays the U.S., let alone Philadelphia. alix, why the hell aren’t you going to be here?!

Try not to think about how your youth is receding faster than dad’s hairline. Or how we’ll all die soon and how you, being female and the youngest, are more likely to outlive everyone else in our family, living alone and, of course, poor.
